Map Site Overview
Each MapMaker map site shares several key components:
Map Frame
This is the main window where your maps appear.
Overview Map
This is a small map at the upper left corner of the Map Frame. It shows which area of Nebraska is being shown in the Map Frame. (Note: currently, only data for participating NRDs is available for use in MapMaker.)
Toolbar
In conjunction with the Layer List, the Toolbar lets you use the interactive features of MapMaker. The Toolbar is located at the top of the Map Frame. (Get detailed help on the Toolbar here.)
Layer List
The Layer List, located to the right of the Map Frame, shows which layers are currently available to view in the Map Frame. These layers are overlain on the main map. Some common layers are roads, streams, and cities, and there are many more to choose from. (Get detailed help on the Layer List here.)
Online Help Menu
The Online Help menu, located underneath the Map Frame, lets you access the Toolbar and Layer List help pages while running the MapMaker application.
Important Note:
Do not use your browser's "Back" or "Refresh" buttons while in one of the map sites. Instead, press Ctrl-F5 if you need to reload the page. To return to the main MapMaker site or jump to one of the other mapping sites, use the "Links" dropdown menu in the bottom bar.
