Click on the "Start" button above to launch the NRD MapMaker application. (By clicking on the button, you agree that you have read and understood this disclaimer statement).

The Mapping Window will replace this screen. To access online help while running the application, use the links at the bottom of the Mapping Window.

When the Mapping Window is completely loaded, a "Retrieving Data" icon will appear as MapMaker downloads the files required for interactive mapping. Next, a "Loading Map" icon will appear as the initial map is loaded. When this icon disappears, a Nebraska map will appear, and you are ready to start mapping.

*Important note: do not use your browser's "Back" or "Refresh" buttons while in the Mapping Window. To reload the page, press Ctrl-F5. To return to this site, use the "MapMaker Home" link at the bottom of the Mapping Window.

The time it takes to initially load the Mapping Window will vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection, and could take up to a minute or two if you are on a slow connection. Please be patient, especially if you are on a dialup connection.

*Note that after the Mapping Window is loaded for the first time, pulling up new data will be much faster.

Your browser must be Javascript-enabled for MapMaker to work correctly. Most newer browsers (4.0+) have Javascript enabled by default.

If Javascript is turned off in your browser for some reason, you will need to go into "Tools:Internet Options" (Microsoft Internet Explorer) or "Preferences" (Netscape Navigator) and go into the Advanced settings to turn it back on.
